What is GCFC diet? It’s a gluten- and caisen-free diet.
Casein (protein found in dairy products), gluten (protein found in wheat, rye, barley and other grains). Many researchers say that when these foods are not completely digested, residue remains in the digestive tract in the form of peptides – short chains of amino acids. These peptides get absorbed into the blood stream, creating a morphine like effect that can affect neurological functions, such as speech and auditory processing, and cause a child to zone out or withdraw from others. In some kids, food sensitivities produce symptoms that mimic signs of ADHD, including hyperactivity and inability to focus. When kids eliminate trigger foods, their symptoms decrease substantially.
GCFC diet can improve gastrointestinal and behavioral symptoms and even can lead to increase language and social function.

Fixing nutrient deficiencies can also have positive effects for kids with autism. Because of their inability to properly digest food and absorb nutrients, many children with these disorders may be low in zinc,magnesium, B vitamins, iron, essential fatty acids and other nutrients. These deficiencies can affect everything from behavior to what an apple tastes like. Lack od magnesium, foe instance, can cause hyperactive-like behavior, sound sensitivity and irritability. Zinc deficiency – a result of a defect in zinc metabolism that is commom in autistic children and can be exacerbated by diets high in white flour and other high-glycemic foods – can change a child’s sense of taste and smell. This helps explain why autistic children are  picky eaters, often want to eat only macaroni and cheese, yogurt, and other bland food. Poor taste won’t improve until zinc levels rise. Zinc-rich foods are seafood, whole grains, beans, cashews. But supplementation is usually the quickest way to get zinc into picky eaters.
Supplements for autism and ADHD:

Vitamin C
Vitamin C reduces harmful oxidants in the body and helps even out
levels of dopamine, a neurotransmitter commonly out of balance in
children with autism and ADHD. The best source of Vitamin C is Camu

Vitamin E
Vitamin E boosts immunity and prevents oxidation of EFAs (essential fatty acids)
Recommended dose is 200-400IU a day.

Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs)
The omega-3 fats DHA and EPA boost brain development and function and are low in children with autism. Recommended dose 1000mg of DHA, 1000 mg of EPA GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), an important omega -6 fatty acid found in evening primrose and borage oils. Recommended dose 100-250 mg a day.

Magnesium
Crutial to protecting the body from heavy-metal overload. Deficiency
of magnesium can cause depression, poor appetite, and muscle spasms.
Recommended dose is 100-500mg a day.

Zinc
Zinc is very important for proper cognitive function. Supplementation boosts immunity and improves taste perception. Recommended dose is 20-45 mg a day.

Other diet recommendations for Autism and ADHD

Go Organic!

Limit a child’s toxic load by choosing foods free of pesticides, herbicides and fungicides and free of GMO.

Avoid:

Additives
: preservatives,and artificial colors.
Nitrites and nitrates: (preservatives that found in hot dogs, bacon, lunch meats) sorbic acid (found in cheese, frosting, dried fruits) dyes (especially yellow #5)
MSG: (found mostly in Chinese restaurant food, chicken broth or flavoring)
Aspartame: (artifitial sweetener) 2007 Lancet study found that artificial colors and preservatives increase hyperactivity in young children.

Eliminate trans fats. Trans fats are in every fried food (french fries, chicken fingers or nuggets, chips and so on) Cook at home, prepare lunches for kids at home. You know what ingredients you putting in your children’s food.! Best oil to cook with is coconut oil
